Cocobod Announces Producer Price Of Cocoa For The 2025/2026 Season
On August 4, 2025, Ghana’s Producer Price Review Committee, chaired by the Minister for Finance, approved the 2025/26 cocoa producer price ahead of the new crop season opening on August 7. The government announced an increase in the producer price from USD3,100 per tonne to USD5,040 per tonne, representing a 62.58 percent rise and equal to 70 percent of the gross Free On Board value of USD7,200 per tonne. This fulfills President Mahama’s commitment to ensure cocoa farmers receive 70 percent of the world market price. At an exchange rate of GHS10.25 to the dollar, the new price translates to GHS51,660 per tonne or GHS3,228.75 per 64 kilogram bag.
