On October 2, 2025, Ghana’s Producer Price Review Committee announced a revised cocoa price of GHS3,625 per bag (GHS58,000 per tonne), a 12.3% increase from August’s GHS3,228.75, effective October 3.

Ghana’s 2024/25 cocoa production is projected at 700,000 MT, up 32% from 2023/24, driven by better yields, pruning, and insecticide supply. Exports are expected to rise 55% to 520,000 MT.

On 13^th September 2024, COCOBOD announced that purchases for the 2024 Light Crop Season would close on September 10, 2024, with final returns from Licensed Buying Companies accepted until September 19, 2024.

On September 11, 2024, Ghana announced a 129% increase in the cocoa producer price to GHS48,000 per tonne, marking a major step to strengthen the sector and improve farmer livelihoods.

On May 31, 2024, COCOBOD announced the closure of purchases for the 2023/24 Main Crop Cocoa Season effective June 6, allowing Licensed Buying Companies to finalize and reconcile their records.
